A Glowing Base with Nars..

Over the past few weeks I've gone from loving my usual full coverage, matte base, to an extremely dewy, medium coverage from Nars..

The Nars Luminous Weightless foundation has been my go to foundation lately, mainly because I was getting bored of having a dull, full coverage everyday. I ordered this slightly worried that I wouldn't like it (I usually stick to what I know with foundations) but I was pleasantly surprised. Although it is a dewy, medium coverage, it is definitely buildable if you wish to cover up more. I was so impressed with the coverage, considering it came out so thin when I pumped some onto my hand, I was expecting it to be really sheer. I got the shade Deauville, and I love the fact that it comes in 20 shades! I always wondered why the name of this foundation was so long, and to be honest I didn't really think it was necessary, but now I can understand why. It is definitely exactly what it says on the tin!

When I applied one layer of this, my skin looked so healthy and glowing, I was made up! I've also built it up on occasions were I want a more full coverage, and the dewy sheen is still there. I do still powder over this foundation to set it, but this just means that I glow in all of the right places.

If you have oily skin, maybe it would be best to use a mattifying primer underneath, so that you still get the dewy element of the foundation without your natural oils coming through. SmashBox do a good matte primer if you're interested. I have an oily T zone but I didn't have a problem when using it with my usual primer.

I think my friend Claire would looove this foundation, she loves a full coverage but isn't keen on how heavy Studio Fix feels on her skin. If you have the same issue, I'd definitely recommend this! It comes out onto your hand like a liquid rather than a bead, making it feel softer and easy to buff into the skin. I've found a little goes a long way with this too so although it is on the more pricey side at £32, I know it will last me ages.

I've been using this buffing brush from Spectrum Collections with this foundation lately, and I love the even coverage I've been getting from it. I will always love my studio fix but I'm enjoying trying something new recently!

What's your current favourite foundation? Do you prefer matte or dewy?
