Let's firstly explain why I ended up with the Tarte Energy Noir Clay Palette when I'm supposed to be on a make up buying ban..
When your boyfriends sister tells you she's jetting off to New York for a week, what's the first thing you say? Have fun? You'll love it? I'm jealous? Well, although I did say all of those things eventually, my initial reaction was OMG PLEASE GO TO SEPHORA FOR ME?! Oops.
So anyway, after making a list and realising she would need an extra suitcase to bring all 15 items home with her, I narrowed it down to three, one of which being the Energy Noir Clay Palette.
If you've read my blog for a while, you will know anything limited edition, new, or unavailable in the UK automatically excites me and my brain tells me that I need it ASAP. So when looking on the Sephora website at products to add to my list, I was naturally intrigued by the Tarte Energy Noir Clay palette. The palette is part of the Tarte Amazonian Clay range however for some reason they have dropped the 'Amazonian' from it's title and stuck with Energy Noir Clay. It was released in the US in July this year as part of the new Autumn or, as they call it, Fall collection. It's pretty clear that the palette is aimed at the colder months, with lots of warm plum, mauve tones throughout it. My favourite colour is purple and I'm obsessed with it in winter so I know already that I'll get my use out of it in the next few months!
The palette consists of 6 matte shades and 2 shimmers. I've swatched them all below so you can see what they look like. I found they are quite dry in the pan which I like because I didn't get a lot of fall out, meaning no wasted product. They are well pigmented, I would say the Matte shades not quite as much as the shimmers but still enough to build up a lovely deep colour. It also has a blush and a highlight shade, although I'm guessing the highlight shade is just for the brow bone because it is way too small to fit any kind of face brush in without a struggle!
Left to right: Full Moon, Charged Up, Dark Drive, Unearthed (Blush)
Left to Right: Stone Unturned, Up Too Slate, Misty Mauve, Crystal Spark (highlight)
Left to Right: Power Plum, Lunar Eclipse
I can already tell this palette would be great for travelling with, it has plastic packaging with a clasp at the front so you wouldn't have to worry about it opening in your bag. The fact that it is an eye and cheek palette is just an added bonus because everything you need is in one place, leaving more room for an extra lipstick ha!
I'm thinking of doing a make up course soon, not because I want to be a make up artist because I don't, but just so I can be more confident in showing different looks I create and sharing them with you on here. At the minute I don't feel confident enough to do that.
Also apologies for my inconsistency lately! Ive still been posting 2-3 times a week but I did get into a routine of Saturday's and Sunday's which I'm trying to get back in to. If there's any particular days you'd prefer me to post then please let me know!
Thanks for reading x
